ST Celtic Potato Festival

Sunday, August 15th - Noon to 10:00pm
The Summer Stage at Tag’s is proud to host the first annual Southern Tier Celtic Potato Festival. A day packed with Irish food, fun and entertainment for the whole family. The Master of Ceremonies for the day will be “Larry the Leprechaun" Tickets are $8.00 advance and $10.00 on festival day. Children under 10 are FREE. Tickets are available at Tag’s, charge by phone 800-650-TAGS, on-line at tagstickets.com. Festival hours are 12 noon till 10:00pm.

Entertainment:
The Town Pants will perform their own unique brand of “West Coast Celtic” music. The Keogh brothers, Dave and Duane, lead the band in vocals and instrumentation with banjo and acoustic guitar, teamed with Aaron Chapman on tin whistle, harmonica and vocals. Together with Ivanka Watkins providing some fiery fiddle while Brandon Mooney and Gilles Nadon on bass and percussion provide the rhythm, they generate a rare blend of passion, energy, animation and spirit.
Kilrush is an Irish band based out of Elmira. This high energy group guarantees you will be moving to the rhythm. Fusing world percussion with traditional favorites, you will hear an entirely new approach to Irish music.
Seneca Moon String Band plays southern Appalachian & Celtic music on hammered dulcimer, ukelin, church bass, autoharp, washboard, jaw harp, bones, mountain dulcimer, pennywhistle, bodhran, fiddle, banjo, guitar & harmonica.
Finger Lakes Pipe Band formed in 2008 as a Grade 5 band under Pipe Major Mark Cushing. The Finger Lakes Pipe Band is dedicated to making the best music possible in the traditional pipe band idiom.
Step/River Dancers from "Let's Dance" Studio in Horseheads and the Carle School of Irish Dance. Both Schools prides themselves on providing the finest instruction of traditional Irish Step Dancing, maintaining the strong ethnic roots in which the dance originated.
Keuka Lake Players and the Lake Country Players will provide Strolling performers including musicians, dancers, face painters, story tellers, leprechauns and fairies. The Keuka Lake and Lake Country Players mission is to produce, present and promote live theatre in our communities.
Contests and Games:
Enter you daughter in the Little Miss Tater Tot Beauty Pageant (Little Miss Tater Tot entry.pdf). First Prize is a basket of toys and the honor of being crowned Little Miss Tater Tot. Each entrant will receive a toy for participating.
Enter Dad in the Mashed Potato Eating Contest. First prize is 50 lbs of Potatoes, a $50 gift certificate to Tag's and $50 Bucks. Second prize is 20 lbs of potatoes, a $20 gift certificate to Tags and $20 bucks. Third prize is 5 lbs of potatoes, $5 gift certificate to Tag's and $5 bucks.
Mom can enter the Potato Peeling Contest. First Prize is 50 lbs of potatoes and a pair of tickets to the Foreigner show. Second Prize is 20 lbs of potatos and third prize is 5 lbs of potatoes.
Authentic Irish games including: Coconut Shy, Haggis Hurling and Quoits.
Plus we’ll throw in a couple of our own creations: Potato Putt-Putt and The Rotten Potato Toss.

Food and Beverage:
Potato’s: We'll have Potato Pancakes, Baked Potatoes stuffed with Broccoli and Cheese, Sweet Potato Fries and Salt Potatoes.
Irish fare provided the Hill Top Inn: Reubens, AuGratin Potatoes and Potato Chowder.
Irish Brews: Killians, Murphy’s, Guiness, Harp
