Umphrey's McGee, Dark Star Orchestra, Rusted Root, Donna the Buffalo & Tea Leaf Green

This is a GA show. There is no reserved seating.

A $2.00 facility fee will be added to the ticket prices.

Since forming in the late '90s, the musically muscular and relentlessly inventive Umphrey's McGee has cultivated an impressive presence both live and in the studio. Lauded by critics and adored by fans, the band continues to draw in new listeners with their singular style: virtuoso playing and acrobatic tempo changes and rhythmic shifts complemented by dazzling song craft and composition, memorable hooks, anthemic guitar lines and rock solid rhythms.

Now in their second decade, Umphrey’s McGee continues to wow fans globally.  The band has performed at festivals such as U.S. festivals as Bonnaroo, ROTHBURY, and Lollapalooza, have toured Europe multiple times and performed Japan’s Fuji Rock Festival.

Umphrey’s McGee is also known for their innovative approach to distributing music and building community. With the recent unveiling of Umphrey’s McGee’s all-new Stew Art Series (aka, “S2”) – an interactive fan experience where audience members “conduct” the band’s live improvisations  - Umphrey’s McGee continue to offer their fiercely loyal fanbase the most innovative musical experiences available. Before their latest studio recording, Mantis, was released in January of last year, the group made the album available for pre-order in an interesting way. Fans were offered more free bonus content the more Mantis pre-orders were received; as the fans “unlocked” levels of content by getting more of their friends to pre-order the album. The idea was to give the fans incentive to help spread the word about the album, and to offer a totally unique music experience. As Umphrey’s McGee’s sound evolves with every passing show, the live concerts sold on their expansive music archive site UMLive.net continue to be in high demand by their hungry fan base.

Dark Star Orchestra, a Greatful Dead recreation band, takes its act to a level of detail that befits a rock band famous for its fanatical following. DSO not only performs the Greatful Dead's material, it recreates entire concerts, down to the instruments used, the songs played, the musicians present, even where they stood on stage. DSO has developed its own tie-dyed fan base, released a CD - a rarity for a tribute type artist - and caught the attention of their musical heros. Grateful Dead rhythm guitarist and singer Bob Weir, drummer Bill Kreutzmann and keyboardist Vince Welnick have all sat in with the band. The band doesn't reproduce the Greatful Dead's songs note for note - though it would be hard for most listeners to tell. The Dead's music is improvisational, with rock, country and jazz influences. DSO members say there's room for interpretation while staying true to the original.

Rusted Root is a multi-instrumental six-piece group from Pittsburgh, known for their fusion of Worldly style bluegrass rock with a strong percussion section that draws from African, Latin, Native American, and Middle Eastern influences. With support from college radio and a good buzz from the band's entrancing live shows, Rusted Root has become quite successful in alternative circles.

Donna the Buffalo's eclectic and often socially conscious music has its base in traditional mountain music and is infused with elements of Cajun/ zydeco, rock, folk, reggae, and country. The group’s core artists are vocalists Tara Nevins, who plays fiddle, guitar, accordion, and scrubboard, and guitarist Jeb Puryear. Keyboardist Dave McCracken, bassist Jay Sanders, and drummer Vic Stafford complete the ensemble. Donna the Buffalo represents one of the most respected brands in the world of touring roots acts.

In times past, you could run away and join the circus or ride the freight trains, and Tea Leaf Green offers the same seductive pull to today's kids. Sharing some of the style and substance of musical contemporaries My Morning Jacket, Wolfmother, and the Raconteurs, Tea Leaf Green conjures the spirit of bands like '70s Bob Dylan, Tom Petty, and The Grateful Dead, taking classic sounds and giving them a present-day polish. Tea Leaf Green reminds us at every turn just how alluring rock 'n' roll can be.

Gates open at 12 noon - show starts at 1:30pm. Tea Leaf Green opens followed by Donna the Buffalo, Rusted Root, Dark Star Orchestra with Umphrey's McGee up last. All bands will be playing full sets.
